Background: |
The project under the Bangladesh Private Investment & Digital Entrepreneurship (PRIDE) initiative seeks to enhance private investment, foster job creation, and promote environmental sustainability within participating economic zones and software technology parks, employing investment project financing with disbursement-linked indicators (DLIs) to drive crucial institutional and regulatory reforms, with specific objectives including the development of climate-resilient infrastructure through the establishment of Vision 2021 Tower STP-2, enhancement of environmental effectiveness in existing STPs and innovation hubs in universities, provision of common facilities for researchers, start-up students, and new firms, facilitation of market entry and growth rates for digital start-ups and small to medium-sized enterprises in the digital economy, and establishment of a gender-inclusive culture for digital entrepreneurship.

Objective: |
The project is being implemented under Bangladesh private investment & digital entrepreneurship (PRIDE) project, which aims at promoting private investment, job creation and supports environmental sustainability in participating economic zones and software technology parks. The project is designed as an investment project financing operation with disbursement-linked indicators (DLIs) to strengthen focus on achieving important institutional and regulatory reforms. The specific objective of the projects are: • To develop climate climate resilient and sustainable infrastructure by establishing a new building as Vision 2021 Tower STP-2 • To improve the effective environment in existing STPs and Innovation hub in universities. • To create common facilities for the use of researchers, start-up students and new firms. • To improve the market entry and growth rates of digital start-ups and small and medium sized enterprises in the digital economy • To create a gender inclusive culture for digital entrepreneurship. |
